COMMUNITY CARE TRANSPORT TRAINING : UNIT 203 - OPERATING A TAIL LIFT ON A VEHICLE

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

All those who will be required to operate a tail lift on a vehicle.

AIM

To reduce the risk of injury to escorts, drivers and passengers when using a tail lift.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the training, candidates will have been instructed and will have demonstrated the correct and safe way to-

  • Check a tail lift before operation.
  • Observe general health and safety and manual handling procedures.
  • Operate a tail lift by lifting and lowering a lift with passengers and wheelchairs.
  • Operate a tail lift if there is a power failure.

CONTENT

  • Risk assessment and correct health and safety procedures.
  • Practical demonstrations and practice related to tail lift procedures.
