Our Values and why they matter


Values are an indicator of what a company stands for, what they believe in and what’s important to them.

If you’re considering working with a company and their values strike a chord with you, it’s highly likely that the partnership will thrive.

Values influence the organisational culture and provide guidance for employees to understand what is expected of them. They could be a contributing factor to establishing a company’s reputation and can positively impact its relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders. 

It is vital to set values in order to provide transparency as to what your business’s principles are and they are likely to play a part in the company’s success. Values can also serve as a code of conduct and shape the overall atmosphere of a company, giving potential customers and employees a feel for the environment.

At Skills Training Centre, we set our original values back in 2004 when we established the company. Much has changed over the past 19 years as we’ve grown and developed from a small team of five to a thriving team of 22! This realisation inspired us to take a look at our values to ensure they still reflect the true identity of our company.

    We aim to exceed expectations for both customers and each other. We give maximum effort from beginning to end.

Our six core values reflect our ethos which informs the way we operate. Our values can be split into two halves; how we work and treat the people around us, and our key priorities as an organisation. 

Our safety, honesty and integrity, and empathy values demonstrate our commitment to creating a pleasant environment for our staff, customers and partners. Reinforcing the importance of the safety of everyone we work with and encouraging those around us to take equal responsibility in this is how we believe we will continue to ensure this. We are honest and transparent in all we do, whether that’s regarding our offering to customers or treating staff and customers fairly and with respect at all times.

Our team - our strength, customer satisfaction and authenticity are the values at the heart of the service we provide. Not only do we value our staff, but we also want to retain them by ensuring their fulfilment and enabling them to realise their full potential. We prioritise exceptional customer service in all we do - ensuring our customers are getting what they need, when they need it, is key. We work hard to exceed customer expectations and continuously improve and enhance our offering.
