New Roads and Street Works Online Course a Success

Skills Training Centre last year launched an optional online supplementary New Roads and Street Works course.

You may be aware that Skills Training Centre launched an online NRSWA course last year. Supplementing our face-to-face courses, this offering gives learners flexibility and therefore convenience.

What does this entail?

The New Roads and Street Works course consists of a variety of units, which is reflected in the online course. Each online unit includes several short videos which include a powerpoint presentation and some even contain a short video of a practical exercise. Most include questions in order to gauge your understanding as you progress through the course, and each unit ends with a short exam designed to be as similar as possible to those you will face when attending an in-person training centre.

How flexible is it?

Each video can be watched and rewatched as often as necessary and with most being around 20 minutes long, it’s easy to break study sessions up into manageable timeslots to fit around your day. Learn in your own time, at your own pace, so that when the time comes to attend the in-person portion, you already have a good grasp of the course content and an understanding of all relevant units.

How do I get involved?

Speaking of relevant units, the NRSWA Operatives Units 001-006 & 009 & Supervisors 001 & 010-014 online course can be purchased alongside the practical face to face NRSWA courses, or on their own from our website at £47.99 inc. VAT.

As well as being utilised as a revision/study guide ahead of your practical course and assessment, this is a useful tool in the unlikely event that you don’t pass your end-of-course assessment at a traditional face-to-face NRSWA course. The full course can be purchased ahead of resits or, if you were to fail in any specific areas, it can be divided and purchased on a unit-by-unit basis; allowing you to rebuild your knowledge and confidence in a targeted and cost-effective way. This also means that you’re being efficient with the most valuable commodity you have - time.

This course is offered alongside all NRSWA course bookings, in order for delegates to complete prior to attendance of a face-to-face course. So far, this has shown an increase in our first-time pass rates and has also been an invaluable tool for those who have required a resit for either a whole course or individual units.
