Skills Training Centre Coaching Day - May 2022

Wednesday 25th May 2022, Stephens House & Gardens, Finchley, London.

On Wednesday 25th May 2022, Skills Training Centre held a coaching day for all staff. This was a fantastic opportunity for all of the different teams to get together and share in the shaping and direction of the company post-pandemic.

Back in December, we conducted a company survey to gauge our levels of efficiency and team cohesion. The survey responses were entirely confidential and analysed by our external consultants. The survey results prompted us to set up some coaching to look at ways that we can improve and refine our performance within our teams and as a business as a whole.

The coaching day was held at Stephens House & Gardens, Finchley, London and was facilitated by Lisa and Isabelle from Beacon Coaching. Beacon Coaching, who specialise in career, personal and family coaching, provide sessions to guide you through change with clarity, purpose, growth and fulfilment.

What was the purpose of the workshop?

The coaching workshop was designed to be engaging, fun and gave our team members the opportunity to discuss their thoughts and ideas in an open and comfortable environment.

 The workshop included:

  • A recap of the survey results.

  • A recap of our business plan.

  • ‘Rules of engagement’ – getting the most out of the day.

  • ‘Good team, bad team’.

  • ‘Start, Stop, Continue’ activity.

  • ‘Shared values’ activity.

  • A typical customer journey.

  • Being a professional organisation.

  • How we ‘wow’ our customers.

  • Recap and Action Planning – a commitment to actions, meetings, timescales, people and resources.

Claudine Fay, Director at Skills Training Centre said, “On reflection, it was evident how necessary it was for all of us to gather together and share our stories, trials and tribulations, all whilst being guided by our expert facilitators. With their help, they enabled new insights to be had through the delivery of fresh and engaging content that had us delve deeply into the way we work.

We learnt new techniques to move us forward as a business with a view to improving efficiency within all teams of the business. I am excited for the next coaching day, consolidating some of the key themes from the first session, and finalising a set of company values that will resonate with all our staff at Skills Training Centre.”

Skills Training Centre will be providing another coaching workshop on Thursday 30th June 2022 where we will be finalising our new Company Values.
