Improving Mental Health Within the Workplace

In this article, we will understand what mental health is and what training courses Skills Training Centre can offer, in order to help improve mental health awareness.

For many people, work is a significant part of their lives. On average, employees spend around 40 hours a week at work, so it’s essential to ensure that the mental health of all colleagues is safeguarded.

In this article, we will understand what mental health is and what training courses Skills Training Centre can offer, in order to help improve mental health awareness.

What is Mental Health?

Mental health is something that we all have, much like physical health. However, your mental state doesn’t always remain the same. It can fluctuate in accordance with varying circumstances and the different stages in your life.

Mental health can range from anxiety to depression, to bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. People with the same mental health condition can all experience varying symptoms, meaning it's crucial that workplaces are prepped to deal with these specific needs and requirements. Mental health issues can affect one in four people at some point in their lives and have a significant impact on employee wellbeing.

What Mental Health Training Does Skills Training Centre Provide?

At Skills Training Centre we offer three courses, Mental Health and Well-being in the Workplace, Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health in the Workplace. Each of these courses focus on stress and common mental health illnesses, with robust action plans in order to help those in crisis or need.

All delegates will come away from the training course with an actionable development plan which they will be able to immediately implement in their workplace.
