The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 came into force on 31 March 1995. They apply to clients, designers and contractors involved in construction. Their aim is to make construction work safer, without imposing undue burdens on the industry. The legislation implements aspects of the EC's temporary or mobile construction sites directive.

This course has been devised to give those personnel, both Client and DSO, working for Local Authorities, who have a responsibility under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 some practical experience of interpreting and implementing the regulations.
